3/5/2023 0 Comments Aromatherapy for stress reliefStress forms a big part of our lives: work, financial, family commitments. Having been through uncertain times associated with a global pandemic and a winter of discontent, we are all experiencing varying degrees of additional pressure.
As stress moves from a short term issue to a long term problem, it can have a number of negative effects on the body, both physically and mentally. Common issues that relate to stress include: sleep problems, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, headaches, irritability, anxiety, low mood, aches and pains, digestive upset, increase in symptoms of existing conditions. Aromatherapy helps to combat the symptoms of stress by triggering messages to the limbic system which controls our emotions. The essential oils are administered through inhalation, ie smelling aromas which are appealing, and massage which helps to reduce muscle tension often associated with stress. In your aromatherapy session, we will discuss why you are wanting aromatherapy and what your symptoms are. Each session is individualised to you. Even coming for regular treatments, each treatment is geared to you on that day, with review of your previous session.
