Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder is a painful condition that gradually develops over a period of 1-3 years and then finally resolved itself.
There is some tissue surrounding the bones that make up your shoulder, called the shoulder capsule.
When the capsule thickens and tightens, movement is reduced, less fluid in the joint reduces lubrication and further reduces motion.
Frozen shoulder is more common in women, usually between the ages of 40-60 years. Other conditions, such as diabetes, underactive thyroid, Parkinson’s, can increase the risk.
Treatment usually involves anti-inflammatory medication, physiotherapy, and maybe a joint injection, but you could also try reflexology to support this conventional treatment.
Whilst reflexology alone will not increase movement in the shoulder, it will help to reduce the inflammation naturally and improve the level of fluid in the joint. This will reduce the pain, and gradually help you to move the shoulder. Reflexology helps the body heal itself through stimulation of specific points on the feet and hands.
