Hayfever

Do you experience hayfever or allergies? Do you experience symptoms of sneezing, wheezing, sore itchy eyes, watery eyes, runny nose? These can be incredibly uncomfortable triggering sinus problems and asthma.
I noticed some blossom starting to bloom on trees at the bottom of my garden, which is a sure-fire warning that my husband will start suffering hayfever symptoms in the near future. He tends to rely on antihistamines but despite being “non-drowsy” they certainly make him very sleepy. This year we are going to give reflexology a go to see if we can reduce the symptoms and thereby rely less on medication.
Allergies occur when your immune system overreacts to an irritant, such as pollen. By stimulating specific reflex points on the feet or hands, will help with reducing the inflammation, open up the sinuses and airways, reduce mucus secretions, and relieve congestion.
Research has shown that stress can increase the severity of symptoms experienced. You will be aware, from previous posts, that reflexology is fantastic for reducing stress and anxiety levels. The treatment itself produces a sense of deep relaxation.
