Lavender

Lavender has an ancient history of use, believed to have been used medicinally for over 2500 years. The Romans used lavender to heal battle wounds.

Many of us reach for lavender products when we can’t sleep, but did you know it has many other uses?

Lavender essential oil, with its light floral scent, is highly antiseptic, analgesic, anti-rheumatic, anti-depressant, anti-viral, and decongestant.

Therefore it is used, amongst others, for:
- [ ] Flu
- [ ] Asthma and respiratory problems
- [ ] Stress
- [ ] Acne, eczema, ulcers, wounds, dermatitis, sunburn, burns, skin infections
- [ ] Headaches
- [ ] Rheumatism and arthritis
- [ ] Muscular aches and pains
- [ ] Insomnia
- [ ] High blood pressure

Because of the sedative effects of lavender, it is not recommended if you have low blood pressure and should not be used within the 2 weeks prior to surgery with a general anaesthetic.
