Massage techniques used in aromatherapy

I love aromatherapy massage because it’s the essential oils that do the hard work.

I remember having a hot stones massage once, until her pressure got harder and harder which was uncomfortable, and then she literally tickled my feet with the stones, which was equally uncomfortable.

With aromatherapy massage, it is a comfortable pressure, designed to warm the skin and muscles, to allow the essential oils to absorb into the bloodstream and carry out their therapeutic benefit.

In aromatherapy massage, there is no cupping, or percussion (tapping). Instead it uses lovely effleurage (stroking) techniques and some kneading to get those pesky knots out.
