24/7/2021 0 Comments Parkinson'sParkinson’s disease is a condition affecting nerve cells at the base of the brain together with a lack of dopamine. The underlying cause is still unknown.
Symptoms include muscle tremors, stiffness and weakness, shaking hands, shuffling walk, and a stooped gait. Parkinson’s is more common in men, usually becoming evident between ages 50-60 years. It is also more prevalent where there is a family history, or where the individual has had a head injury. Reflexology promotes relaxation, stimulates circulation and nervous systems, and helps to eliminate toxins from the body. It can help with improving saliva and tear production, and relieving constipation often caused by medication. Reflexology can take place in your own home if mobility is a problem. It can be carried out in your recliner chair or on your bed. Having been a district nurse for many years I am very adaptable to providing treatment where you are most comfortable.
