16/2/2022 0 Comments Perimenopause 2Peri-menopause is great isn’t it?
Did you answer yes? Then you don’t need me! If your answer was no, then read on! Yesterday I looked at the mental and emotional challenges of peri-menopause, but what about the physical ones? There a number of physical changes that happen due to falling levels of oestrogen, and they happen when, mentally and emotionally, you are maybe not feeling strong and confident. Physical changes can include weight gain (particularly around the middle), wrinkles, thinning hair, boobs start sagging, maybe you are slightly incontinent. Oh my goodness it doesn’t sound great, but let us look at this with a positive pair of eyes! We may be losing our hormones but they are the reason we could bear children, they give us our maternal and soft side. Our wrinkles are signs that we have laughed and made others laugh. Yes, things may be “heading south” but our bodies have always gone through periods of change, this is just the next one, and we are still attractive and still the same person inside. Whilst reflexology can’t miraculously cure all of these things, it can help you to feel energised, focused, reduce pain/stiffness, improve sleep and so much more!!
