Sacrum and coccyx

Today we are looking at the base of the spine, namely the sacral spine and coccyx.

The nerves running through this part of the spine are responsible for the functioning and sensation in the bladder, buttocks, legs, ankles.

This area is also relevant if you have lost a lot of weight, and sit down for long periods of time, because it can affect the integrity of the skin.

This is also the part of the spine that can become affected if you have arthritis or another condition affecting the hips, causing the pelvis to twist.

Reflexology can reduce the inflammation, pain, improve quality of sleep, and release tension in surrounding muscles.
