17/2/2022 0 Comments Self-EsteemSelf-esteem is fragile at any time, but peri-menopause can make you feel very vulnerable.
You are not alone! Let me tell you about my situation: I have always struggled with self-confidence and low self-esteem, but developed a bubbly front for a very long time. Eventually it stopped being a front, and as I achieved various things, my confidence naturally grew. This took a knock as I developed peri-menopausal symptoms. Symptoms of anxiety, palpitations, mood swings, depression swept in with a vengeance. HRT has helped to ease the symptoms but I have also given myself a talking to and chosen to come out of my comfort zone! With support from very dear friends I have discovered yoga, gone back to personal training to get fit and get a body to die for , and started open water swimming. All of which I love and I’m doing it for me! It’s not selfish, and doesn’t hurt anyone else, to take time to do what you need to do to get through this exceptionally challenging episode! I also discovered my love for reflexology which is a natural way to help rebalance your body which also has a hugely positive effect mentally and emotionally.
