Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens at the first treatment?
You will be welcomed by myself at the front door and escorted upstairs to the sanctuary. You will be asked to fill in a short confidential health questionnaire. Based on this, I may ask a few more questions about symptoms, frequency of symptoms, medication etc. You will then be asked to remove your shoes and socks, and lie down on the treatment couch.
I will ensure you are comfortable and a blanket can be provided if you feel the cold. Alternatively there is a fan available if you are feeling warm.
I will explain how the treatment is carried out, my reasons for this, and give you the opportunity to ask any questions, prior to starting your treatment.
There will be some lovely music playing in the background throughout your session.
What does the reflexology treatment feel like?
This is a difficult question to answer specifically because we are all individuals with different conditions and experiences. However, the treatment itself involves gentle pressure on the feet or hands which should not cause you any pain or discomfort.
Clients report a range of sensations during the treatment ranging from tingling sensations, heat, muscle release, feeling emotional, feeling tired. Many clients fall asleep during the treatment which is fabulous because I am trying to create a sense of deep relaxation in the body which helps the body balance itself. However, some clients like to talk during their treatment and that is ok too.
What do I need to do afterwards?
Absolutely nothing..... well as little as possible! Ideally you will have completely relaxed during your session which is helping your body to heal itself. By continuing to relax at home allows your body the best chance to rebalance itself. I do understand that this is not always possible, and you will still get the benefit from your treatment.
It is important that you drink plenty of clear caffeine-free drinks afterwards, ideally water. Treatment encourages the body to eliminate toxins, and it is necessary to flush them out. If you don't drink plenty of fluids you may experience a headache. If you do experience this, it will generally last a maximum of 24 hours.
What should I wear?
I would recommend loose fitting clothes/trousers or cropped trousers because I need to be able to access above your ankles. You need to be comfortable otherwise you will have difficulty relaxing. I also suggest wearing layers to ensure you feel warm/cool enough.
Can I have a treatment if I have a verruca?
This would need to be discussed prior to your treatment. If you have a small one then it is likely that I can work around it safely. If you have a large verruca, cluster of them or more than one in different areas, then it would be necessary to treat before your reflexology session.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No, just yourself. Ideally leave your phone at home or switch it off because this is your time to switch off to the outside world.
How can I pay for treatment?
You can either pay by cash, PayPal or bank transfer. Bank transfer is my preferred method, but i appreciate not everyone uses this system.
How long does a treatment session last for?
The first treatment session can last up to 1.5 hours to allow for the questionnaire and consultation. Subsequent treatments last approximately an hour. I individualise treatments depending on my findings but i generally last around an hour.
How often will I need treatments?
There is no set frequency of treatments, and will be open to discussion. Factors that will be considered are cost, the conditions being treated, and your commitments. For chronic conditions, its recommended to start with more frequent treatments then you can continue with this or ease them to slightly less frequently. For acute conditions, then more frequent conditions are recommended. If you are looking for an hour of relaxation for no specific condition, then once a month is a nice regime.
I would love a treatment but can't drive. Do you do home visits?
Yes, i will travel up to 30 minutes from my home (approximately 25 miles). I have a recliner chair or you may prefer to lie on your bed. I just require something to sit on, and have sufficient space to sit at the bottom of your feet.
I provide towels and blankets so you do not need to worry about linen.
I love animals but do request that they are put away during the treatment so you can fully relax and we are not interrupted. If you want them to lie with you, that is fine. I just need my equipment (reflexology waxes, spatulas, my own feet to be left alone) for hygienic and safety purposes.

Testimonials
"I have inflamed nerves in my neck from working at a desk which is the wrong height. This has given me dreadful headaches and I have been suffering with a stiff neck. I had a sports massage and my therapist said it would leave me feeling very sore for the next 24-48 hours. I was indeed very sore and with limited movement in my neck.
I arrived at Sarah’s for my regular session this week stiff as a board and in pain. I mentioned this to Sarah and she worked her magic and I left being able to move my neck in all directions and pain free!
I highly recommend Sarah. Even if you are just curious, do give reflexology with Sarah a try, you won’t be disappointed." - J.S.
"Loved my session with Sarah. Firstly what's not to love about having time just for me but in terms of what she identified, they were areas where I have issues. Definitely visiting again. Thank you." - D.J.
"I had my first reflexology session today and it was simply amazing. Sarah is so lovely and relaxed me so much that I fell asleep!! I will certainly be back!! X" - C.H.

"Wow! What an amazing treatment, Sarah made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, explaining everything beforehand. I thoroughly enjoyed it, blissful. Think I fell asleep too! Sarah identified headaches, I suffer with migraines so hoping this will help. I can't wait for my next appointment . Thank you so much Sarah xxx" - T.L.
"I would highly recommend Sarah! She was very welcoming and made me feel at ease for my first session, everything was explained and all my questions answered before we started. I was able to really relax and I look forward to my next session to help the areas Sarah picked up on which I have been struggling with for a long time, Thankyou!" - S.O.
"Would highly recommend! With someone who has had foot issues for years, I found my sessions really useful & relaxing. Sarah strikes exactly the right balance of talking you through your treatment, if you want or just leaving you to relax. Thanks Sarah!" - S.C.
"I love my reflexology sessions with Sarah. Firstly what's not to love about having some self care time just for me, but in terms of what is identified and then worked on, all helps with balance in between visits." - D.J.
"Superb gentle treatment. Delivered with care. Sarah is a wonderful reflexologist" - L.A.
"I have had various symptoms for a long time (near on 2-4yrs) they got worse, then disappeared, then some came back and I just wasn't feeling myself and I felt like I was completely disjointed - like the inside of me didn't match the outside - low and behold I was recently diagnosed with early menopause. Sarah's profile page literally popped up on my phone as an interest I might like and I felt compelled to message her late at night (insomnia's a bugger) I had my first appointment today - utterly gobsmacked at how it went. Sarah was firstly amazing. Listened to history, understood the zany thoughts/difficulties I was having but I was completely taken aback by how much this worked. I've always been interested in reflexology but this was something else. Sarah was able to explain certain things, and my body reacted and 'fed back' - it was uncanny, unexplainable, but utterly amazing. I don't do reviews as such, I just go back and tell friends but if you are thinking about reflexology, book an appointment with Sarah - you really won't be disappointed. Amazing. Utterly amazing" - S.M.
"I visited Sarah the first time back in August 21 and was suffering with a really painful neck having hurt it in December of 2020. I had constant headaches and was in a lot of pain and just didn't know what to do with myself. A friend suggested I try reflexology and I found Sarah's Facebook page. I watched her videos explaining what a reflexology session was like, and decided to get in touch. I had my first appointment less than a week later and I can honestly say that it very quickly became my favourite hour of the week! I deliberately didn't tell Sarah what was wrong with my neck, but she told me that she'd identified problems with it at the end of my first session.
The treatments helped me so much, my neck pain eased substantially after just one session, and continued to improve week on week, and I just felt so relaxed that I even feel asleep! Sarah is such a lovely lady, who really knows her stuff, she put me at ease from the moment we met and I always felt that I was in safe hands (literally!)
I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone suffering with pain, or anyone that just wants to treat themselves. She's fab." - K.G.
