How would you rate your sleep quality on a scale of 1 (bad) to 10 (amazing)? Prolonged insomnia affects our immunity, raises blood pressure and heart rate, alters our bowel pattern, increases anxiety and depression. Our bodies will usually rebalance and rejuvenate during sleep, so if that is not happening our bodies and minds suffer. Reflexology creates a feeling of deep relaxation during the session, but my clients often tell me how well they sleep that night, and often for a few nights afterwards. Reflexology helps to reduce stress and anxiety, which are common triggers for insomnia. It also helps other sleep-depriving causes such as pain, hot flushes, headaches, general illness, fatigue. By working specific points and areas on your feet, I can help with melatonin levels. These regulate your body’s natural circadian rhythm, helping you sleep at night. Unlike sleeping pills or over the counter “natural remedies”, reflexology does not cause any “hangover” effects, and can actually make you feel more energised, focused and motivated.
